Magic of Herbs: Lavender, essential oil

As I explore earthwork, I’m quickly finding that particular items and properties work best with me. Particular elements, particular crystals, particular herbs.

In terms of herbs, particularly in its incarnation as an essential oil, lavender is the one of two that are essential for soul work (the other is rosemary). It is certainly not the only essential oil I use, but it is one I end up using nearly every time I reach for my essential oils, and I’m still enjoying my continued discovery of lavender’s properties.

Lavender is also Oshun’s oil, whose presence I feel whenever I do this work, and my use of lavender is often coupled with the intention to invoke Oshun’s spirit and attributes in whatever I’m preparing.

Personally, I’ve used lavender essential oils to:
-aid in sleep
-alleviate headaches (particularly when coupled with rosemary and eucalyptus essential oils)
-calm my mind and spirit
-encourage a meditative space
-assist in the healing of minor burns
-intend sweetness
-soothe anxieties

Of course this is only the tip of the lavender essential oil iceberg.

What have you used lavender essential oil for?

What is your ‘magic’ herbal essential oil?

I love lavender! I also use peppermint around my doors and windows to keep bugs away and lemongrass to make the house smell amazing!
