Mercury in Rx New Moon in Virgo w/ the Night Vale Tarot

The Welcome to Night Vale Tarot is definitely the deck to enter Mercury Rx in eclipse season with. It’s weird, it’s funky, and nothing makes sense yet it is exactly what you need to see and listen well to.

We open up with a ‘hey, what’s up hello?’ from the trickster king of Mercury Rx himself, Eshu. In the tradition of Ifa, the orisha Eshu or Ellegua sits at the crossroads, his colors are red and black, and it just so happens that his number is three. One of Eshu’s favorite things to do is play jokes that make you laugh (usually at yourself) and tell you the truth. It rarely ever feels awesome in the moment but when you look back, he is the one behind that slow self-deprecating smile that admits there was a point to it all. Mercury Rx in a nutshell.

This not-quite-mad maestro specializes in being able to hear the harmony in the cacophony. In this iteration in the Three of Wands, a fire burns behind his head (that he probably started) but he’s not looking at it. He’s looking at you. So what’s your plan? How are you gonna adapt? Occasional Oracle: Embrace Chaos, Find Your Freedom

I’m going to call this the Occasional Oracle. Every once in a while, at random I’m called to pull a card with the sense that while the message may be for me in some part, it is also for another spirit- for someone who, with serendipity’s blessing, will come upon it and perhaps be glad for it. I hope that you receive exactly what you need from it.

Today’s card is Seagull from the Winged Enchantment Oracle deck.

Noisy scavengers disrupting our beatific beach experience, seagulls have learned to survive on scraps even as they do their best to remind us that we are the interlopers.

Seagulls are tenacious, chaotic, loud, and unapologetic. There’s a wisdom of freedom to be learned here.

“You are navigating the chaos.
You are exploring deeper waters.
You are boundless supply.”

signal boost: Virgo Tarotscopes are posted!

Your tarotscopes for Virgo’s season have arrived!

Here’s a snippet of what Virgo has in store for all of us with Libra sun, moon, and rising signs:

First things first, Libra, before we go any further: put your wisdom in the driver’s seat. Alright, good. Now, let something go…Know that when you release it, you are not quitting, you are not selfish, you are not running.

These tarotscopes are written by twelve different readers blending tarot and astrology wisdom to shine a light on our path for the next cycle. I’ve absolutely loved co-weaving Libra’s journey and I’m looking forward to the the circle coming around full next month as we enter Libra next month.

My Monday After-Work Promise

What’s your Monday After-Work promise to yourself?

We all know the old Monday morning song, feeling like three two-ton bags of ‘here we go again’. Or perhaps, you’re one of those folks who meet your Mondays with not just a smile but a wide grin, rearing to take on your week. Or maybe, your Mondays aren’t even Mondays and your week begins on Tuesday or even Saturday.

Whatever it may be, I’ve learned that there needs to be a transition. Something to bridge your mind, body, and spirit from being at rest to diving into activity. A moment in time you gift to yourself after the first day back at the grind. Continue reading

Deck Review: The Stretch Tarot

Here is a deck I’ve been waiting on for sometime, even contemplated it for my Tarot of the QTPOC series. The Stretch Tarot is a ‘mixed-media’ collage tarot deck by the artist and creator J.E. Stretch. The imagery is drawn from vintage photographs and art pulled together to evoke images representative of the tarot.

“The history of the tarot is shrouded in as much mystery as the symbolism of the cards themselves holds to the layman. Yet we all share the same image – a Victorian fortune-teller, fanning the cards in the low, orange haze of gas lamps and candlelight in a dingy parlour. In ‘The Stretch Tarot’, this stereotype is embraced and heightened through the use of public domain, 19th-20th century photography and illustrations – bringing you the ‘authentic’ atmosphere of the tarot and making this mystic fantasy an exciting reality.” – J.E. Stretch

My birth cards, not the most impressive cards in the deck but quite beautiful nonetheless

note to self.

I hope the new moon found you well, loves. As usual for a renewing moon, my spiritual energy was at peak despite my physical unavailability. I can’t complain much however, I got to create some absolutely beautiful potent magic with and for other healers. This I always recognize to be an honor. I also remind myself to honor my own magic and take better care!

I feel like it’s been a while since I’ve posted, though I know for a fact it’s been just under a week. I’m definitely going to have to adjust to my back to work schedule now that my summer’s officially over and done with. I’m going to continue working on being infinitely more compassionate with myself:-

I do not have to be an infinite well of energy.
I deserve wellness and rest too!
I will give from the overflow.
