post debate magic because we need all the help. all of it. #politicalwitchesunite

Did you catch the debate tonight? Yeah. I know. Here’s some quick help with that all around gross feeling.

first, breaking baths & rituals. some of your herbal allies are sage, hyssop, cleaver, mugwort, & rosemary. smoke, wash, sprinkle, do whatever you need to clear yourself before you sleep. you absolutely do not need to take it with you.

afterward bring the sweetness back in. sip, breathe in or apply something sweet and calming like lavender, jasmine, calendula, or rose before bed tonight.

and listen to any instinct that tells you to ring sea salt around your bed.

Do you ever grow & dry your own herbs? I’m half wondering how you have such a stock of All The Herbs, and half envisioning you pottering in a lush herb garden.

Sometime though, I’d love a little more of the mundane parts of smoke/sprinkling/washing the herbs you recommend: how do you smoke some of these herbs? Do you take a bath and just let the herbs soak with you? Etc.

I envision that for me as well, lol! I’m moving into a new place soon and I’m hoping that I’ll finally get that herb garden I wanted on my patio and then maybe one day in actual land. #goals

I love mundane everyday rituals. I don’t believe that magic has to take ages and ages or all my energy. For example with the smoking- light a bunch of rosemary or lavender up just like you would sage (not all the way on fire, just like you would incense) or set it on an incense burner. I also like to use the essential oil in a diffuser to clear the room, if i set that intention. My quick trick room refresh is to simmer sliced lemon and rosemary (any aromatic herb really) in water on my oven top and take deep cleansing inhales as the scent diffuses in the room. I’m also definitely about herb baths. I mix the blend I’d like and let them sit in the bath with me. You could even dried herbs into your epsom salt package or jar and boom you have an herbal salt bath. It’s all about your intention. Sprinkling is also awesome for me- I just sprinkle rosemary and lavender on my floors and carpets as I say an intention and let it sit for as long as I like before vacuuming/sweeping.

Thank you for the awesome suggestions! I’m gonna try burning some lavender I have. That’s why I bought this twine at the hardware store, after all. (Either that or because I love the hardware store…)
