Full Moon in Virgo Crossings with a Mind the Gap Spread

I welcome this full moon as a bridge from Winter to Spring as we await Ostara. In Virgo, the full moon calls us to take an account of where we are at, and where we want to go. Mixed in with the magic of a Spring sabbat and it’s all about grounding our vision in practical details. We need a plan for where we are going.

In that spirit I offer this Mind the Gap Spread for moving into new spaces with clarity. It’s named for that jump/step we take to get on a bridge leading to the other side.

Few bridges in life are seamlessly connected to either of the shores they connect. There’s almost always a space between shore and bridge- and so it is in life cycles.

What is that space for you? Is it filled with doubt, uncertainty, or is it a thrill of excitement running down your spine as you approach your next destination?

Whatever it is, pay attention to that space. It is giving you a glimpse into what the bridge might hide- a torrent beneath, another path, an abyss…there’s a lesson there too. Particularly as not all bridges are equal, and should you fall it’s always good to know what or where you are falling in to.

As you step into the transition, be mindful of your movements. Those first steps lay the foundation of where you are going. The preparation you do now is absolutely vital. Let the full moon in Virgo’s powered up attention detail lead you in that work.

And as always, keep an eye on your goal and what it really is rather than what it is supposed to be. A lot can happen in transition and you might find that the other side looks very different up close than what it did from afar.

All the best on your magical journey ❀

some time with the sea goat’s hermit moon

Blessings this New Moon in Capricorn!

New Moons for me have always been The Hermit’s domain. It’s the perfect time to seek out the shadow- not always for work, we need rest too. It is in the shadow that we learn to tend to our light and know better how to preserve it for ourselves and our community’s sustenance. With Mercury Rx in full force, the New Moon call for reflection only intensifies.

New Moon in Capricorn reading: Three of Wands, The Hermit, and Two of Swords from Tarot of Trees

This New Moon in Capricorn you and I are looking to ourselves.

This is the long filling inhale before the jump off the cliff into 2017. For so many this had been a solar turn of tumult and uncertainty. We’ve been pushed, pulled, killed, hurt, torn apart, and still we are here. You are here. And our ancestors passed on are here with us. The infinity of the cycle can feel overwhelming- and sometimes make it a burden to always strive for the long view.

The New Moon provides space to heal from overwhelm. She allows us to sit with ourselves, cradled in the warm tangible darkness of our shadow, and rest. We can always return here for our protection. This is the space that cannot be breached.

simple and intention filled recipe and ritual for the new moon

Here is a simple but powerful new moon essential oil blend.

Sage for wisdom and purity,
Rosemary for clarity and discernment,
Tea Tree for upliftment and cleansing.

Diffuse into your space and add candle magic for extra wonder. It’s no accident that this is also a great crown chakra and third eye essential oil blend. You can also make enough of an oil blend to apply throughout the week to keep you focused. Notice how clear your space and spirit feels after- inhale deeply and release all that weighs you down.

One of the best parts about this blend is that it makes a great practical base for every new moon- you could add to it as necessary (for example some ylang ylang or jasmine for moons that call for extra sweetness).

I am planning to meet the new moon in sagittarius with hope and anticipation for new paths to take; this will definitely help.

note to self.

I hope the new moon found you well, loves. As usual for a renewing moon, my spiritual energy was at peak despite my physical unavailability. I can’t complain much however, I got to create some absolutely beautiful potent magic with and for other healers. This I always recognize to be an honor. I also remind myself to honor my own magic and take better care!

I feel like it’s been a while since I’ve posted, though I know for a fact it’s been just under a week. I’m definitely going to have to adjust to my back to work schedule now that my summer’s officially over and done with. I’m going to continue working on being infinitely more compassionate with myself:-

I do not have to be an infinite well of energy.
I deserve wellness and rest too!
I will give from the overflow.

What are your support systems? A spread from the Full Moon in Capricorn.

The Full Moons have been hitting me hard lately. This one in Capricorn is vibing with Cancer in a way that transforms its usual concerns for structure into deeper ones about support. What are your support systems? How do you feel supported? Where do you feel most supported? Paying attention to the shadow of those answers as well, because the reality is that for some of us, support is scarce if available. Be gentle with yourself in this work, this is some of the hardest work, acknowledging what is present and what is missing- who is missing. That being said, check in often. I hope this spread can help with that work.

SUPPORT SYSTEM SPREAD
1. You, upright.
2. You, when in need of support.
3, 4, 5. Support System Inventory.
6, 7. Further guidance.

New Moon in Cancer Blazing

I was in need of some deep guidance but still feeling a bit tender from the past few days of a low swing. I turned to my very trusted and dear Mythical Goddess Tarot. She’s my very first deck, and even when she’s delivering hard messages I can sit with where she’s coming from.

rose moon solstice healing work

As the earth holds its breath at climax of night and day, a ritual:-

I meet the sun with grief and herbs burnt in memory of lights too soon put out and feed the bonfire with the flames of my rage. I do this in hope that I can leave it with the dying embers when all is consumed; let it all turn to ash to match the taste in my mouth.

I meet the moon with grief and water laid out in hope that no more lights will go dark too soon- inevitable, I know, but hope is a hard thing to kill when it is all that is left and you love so deeply. I remind myself why it is love survives and seek the shadow to find the light.

However you meet the solstice, may you find in the magic exactly what you need to.
