New Moon in Taurus Reflections

Blessed New Moon in Taurus everyone!

Which for many folks feels especially wonderful, I’m sure, because Venus is finally direct and letting our feels breathe.

This new moon is a bit harder for me. It’s the first one where I’ve felt nearly altogether depleted- usually new moons give me an extra boost of energy. Not that its magic isn’t as potent, just my life is facing a bit more challenge than usual and my self-care isn’t as on point as I’d like it to be.

I’m adjusting to a family health challenge and to the subsequent role of caregiver. I traveled, so the sanctuary of home is unavailable. Most of my day is spent inside a hospital, which I’ve always been energy-sensitive to and the usual care habits aren’t as accessible in my new day to day.

I’m trying to form a plan for the long-term while I’m in the adjustment period. I’ve got the larger plans in the works but also taking advantages of the little pockets of air that allow for a bit of grounding and comfort- like a tea, blended with hawthorn and holy basil and flower petals to soothe and bolster my heart, that I mixed on impulse five minutes before the five hour drive to the hospital.

A taste of sanctuary.

The usual lunar readings have been harder for me. It’s not as easy to take in broader themed messages appropriate for this moon like love, home, abundance, security, and manifestation when I’m dealing with what feels like such an insurmountable set of circumstances.

Not that it looks like avoiding those themes is possible- case in point my new moon reading. The FOUR OF WANDS, STAR, and MAGICIAN are all about love, home, abundance, security, and manifestation.

So how to bring that energy down here where I am at?

I don’t have a clear answer yet, or rather it’s slowly forming and I can’t quite articulate it yet. It’s my New Moon soul homework for tonight as I spend the night hospital bedside once again.

With all this of course, a few things have been placed on a necessary hold. While I’m away from home, my meditative tarot teas, baths, and talismans will be unavailable as I’m not near my herbs at the moment.

What I am wide open and available for is tarot readings! I’m never far from a deck of cards. I’ve got some time on my hands and I’d like to continue being of service. So go ahead and book a reading for yourself and let’s explore Taurus’ lessons of love, home, abundance, security, and manifestation together. As always, sliding scale is available.

New Moon in Aries Breakthrough Spread

We’re tapping into the Ram’s energy as we dive fully into Spring. It’s the blooming time of manifestation and breaking through the toughest of obstacles still left over from winter. In that spirit, I offer up this Breakthrough Spread.

  1. Where is there space for new growth? This position shows you where there may best be time and space to start up something new. Pay attention to this card. What shows up here may give you a hint about whether you should even proceed right now. It’s perfectly alright to take a beat and come back next week or even next month.
  2. What you already have to assist you. We never move into challenges completely helpless. There is always something within us already ready to help us grow forward.
  3. What are you missing in order to proceed? That being said there is always something new to learn- and we may have to learn as we go. This card gives us a heads up for whatever resource that may be.
  4. What may show up as an obstacle? This card illuminates your path to challenges that may pop up.
  5. What may show up as a blessing? This card illuminates your path to gifts that may pop up.
  6. Where is the point of breaking through? You can take this position as one that illuminates either an outcome or a lesson learned.

some time with the sea goat’s hermit moon

Blessings this New Moon in Capricorn!

New Moons for me have always been The Hermit’s domain. It’s the perfect time to seek out the shadow- not always for work, we need rest too. It is in the shadow that we learn to tend to our light and know better how to preserve it for ourselves and our community’s sustenance. With Mercury Rx in full force, the New Moon call for reflection only intensifies.

New Moon in Capricorn reading: Three of Wands, The Hermit, and Two of Swords from Tarot of Trees

This New Moon in Capricorn you and I are looking to ourselves.

This is the long filling inhale before the jump off the cliff into 2017. For so many this had been a solar turn of tumult and uncertainty. We’ve been pushed, pulled, killed, hurt, torn apart, and still we are here. You are here. And our ancestors passed on are here with us. The infinity of the cycle can feel overwhelming- and sometimes make it a burden to always strive for the long view.

The New Moon provides space to heal from overwhelm. She allows us to sit with ourselves, cradled in the warm tangible darkness of our shadow, and rest. We can always return here for our protection. This is the space that cannot be breached.

note to self.

I hope the new moon found you well, loves. As usual for a renewing moon, my spiritual energy was at peak despite my physical unavailability. I can’t complain much however, I got to create some absolutely beautiful potent magic with and for other healers. This I always recognize to be an honor. I also remind myself to honor my own magic and take better care!

I feel like it’s been a while since I’ve posted, though I know for a fact it’s been just under a week. I’m definitely going to have to adjust to my back to work schedule now that my summer’s officially over and done with. I’m going to continue working on being infinitely more compassionate with myself:-

I do not have to be an infinite well of energy.
I deserve wellness and rest too!
I will give from the overflow.

New Moon in Cancer Blazing

I was in need of some deep guidance but still feeling a bit tender from the past few days of a low swing. I turned to my very trusted and dear Mythical Goddess Tarot. She’s my very first deck, and even when she’s delivering hard messages I can sit with where she’s coming from.

New Moon Reading, deep breath and fall

It’s taken me a while to get to this reading that was actually pulled during the New Moon. The New Moon in Pisces that was also caught up in eclipse and thunderstorm energy in my neck of the world. If I hadn’t been working tarot with a co-healer sister, I’d have fallen on my apartment floor and not lifted my head for the rest of the night. I felt the night left me bare, open, raw, and exposed.

So when I pulled these cards, my very first instinct was to run away and never return. I wonder, do roman numerals have some numerology theory associated with them? All the cards I pulled from The Wooden Tarot was a VI/IV variation. Gotta research that.

However, as I settled with the reading, and asked for help, I realized that I was being comforted. Even as I felt like the birds in the bottom two cards, in controlled and free fall all at once, someone was waiting to catch me. As I breathed in and out and reconsidered, the Six of Bones became less threatening and more like an ancestor’s hand reaching out to break my fall, or perhaps even guide it. I was being asked to remember the value of surrender and trust, of closing my eyes and looking inward for peace even as chaos rules my outward.

the snowdrop spread; a spread for emerging growth

The first blooms of spring are calling.

What’s peeking out of your garden?

snowdrop

1. PLANTED. What was planted in the shadow?
2. STIRRING. What stirs beneath ready to emerge?
3. HINDER. Where is blockage to be found?
4. GROWTH. Where is growth to be found?
5. EMERGING. What begins to peek up above ground?
